Contacts

Your one audience for every channel. Import your list, tag people (donors, ward-5, press), and every other tool cuts its send list from these tags.

Have your list as a CSV or Excel export, or just ready to paste.

1. Open Contacts and click ⇪ Import.
2. Click Upload CSV or Excel, or paste rows straight into the box (name, phone, email in any order — a header row is fine).
3. Type a tag for this batch, like ward-5 or donors, and click Import. Duplicates and blanks are skipped automatically.
4. To add one person, click ＋ Add, fill in name/phone/email/tags, and save.
5. Use the search box and tag chips to find people; click ✕ on a row to delete someone.

• Tag reporters press on import — Press & Media looks for that tag automatically.
• A contact needs a phone to get texts and an email to get emails. One list, each channel uses what it has.

Email Blast

Broadcast email to your list through Amazon SES, with AI drafting, merge fields, a test send, and a plain-English pre-send review.

Add your Amazon SES keys (the status bar at the top tells you if you're connected). Your from-address must be a verified SES sender. Import contacts first.

1. Fill in Who it's from: from name, from email, committee name, and your mailing address (required by law — it goes in the footer). Click Save sender.
2. Pick a template (Fundraising ask, GOTV, Endorsement, and more) or type what you want and click ✨ Draft.
3. Edit the subject and body. Tap the {first} {name} {city} chips to personalize; tap ＋ Donate link to drop in a tracked donation link.
4. Check What they'll actually get — real previews merged with real people from your list.
5. Send yourself a test with Send test.
6. Pick a list (Everyone or a tag), read the review card — recipient count, who's unsubscribed, spam-word warnings — then click Send and confirm.

• The send is blocked while any template [BRACKETS] are still unfilled — that's on purpose.
• Unsubscribes are suppressed automatically on every future send.

A/B Subject Test

Write two subject lines for the same email. Each goes to a slice of your list; the one more people open automatically goes to everyone else about 4 hours later.

Set your sender in Email Blast — tests send from the same identity.

1. Click ＋ New test and name it.
2. Write subject A and subject B.
3. Write the email body (identical for both — only the subject is under test).
4. Pick the audience (Everyone or a tag). The plan card spells out the split in real people: "X get A, X get B, the winner goes to the remaining Y."
5. Click Start the A/B test and confirm.
6. Watch the results pane — live open rates as bars, a plain-English verdict, and the winner send when it fires.

• A good first test: a plain subject vs. a curious one.
• Small list? Everyone lands in the test and there's no separate winner send — the app tells you when that's the case.

Texting Setup

The one-time compliance runway for political texting — Campaign Verify, 10DLC registration through Bandwidth — plus a composer to test-send and blast, with photo or inline-video MMS.

Political texting legally requires registration. The status pills at the top show exactly where you are: Committee → Campaign Verify → 10DLC Brand → Campaign → Carrier live.

1. Enter your committee name.
2. Campaign Verify: verify once per cycle at campaignverify.org (the link is in the panel), then paste your token and click Save token.
3. Register 10DLC brand: enter your committee's EIN, phone, email, and address, then click Register brand — we file it through Bandwidth.
4. Register campaign: one click — we generate a compliant political use-case from your committee info.
5. Compose a text (✨ Draft writes it for you), optionally attach a photo or video — video is compressed so it plays inside the message — and Send test to your own phone.
6. Pick a list and Send. Until Bandwidth is live, sends queue and the app says so plainly.

• A compliance footer with your committee name and STOP language is added automatically.
• Your website needs the opt-in consent block shown at the bottom of the panel — carriers check it.

Text Campaigns

Write a text blast, see it exactly as real people will receive it, see what it costs, then send now or schedule it.

Import and tag contacts; finish Texting Setup to actually deliver.

1. Click ＋ New campaign and name it (e.g. "Ward 5 GOTV, election eve").
2. Pick who it goes to — Everyone or a tag (each tag shows its count).
3. Start from a template or write the message. Tap {first} to personalize.
4. Watch the live counters: characters, segments, recipients, opt-outs skipped, and estimated carrier cost. Over 160 characters doubles the bill — the app warns you and says what trimming saves.
5. Paste a link and click Shorten & insert for a tracked short link, or tap ＋ Donate to insert your donation page.
6. Check What they'll actually see — live previews merged with real contacts.
7. Click Send and confirm, or pick a date and time and click Schedule — it goes out on its own.

• Scheduling into quiet hours (before 8am / after 9pm local) triggers a warning — texting laws are real.
• Click counts show next to each short link, so you know what worked.

Texting (Inbox)

Every reply in one queue, pre-sorted by AI so the highest-value conversations float to the top — persuadable voters, questions, supporters, opposition — with one-key approved replies.

1. Open the inbox. The count at the top says how many need a reply.
2. Click a conversation (or press J/K to move through the queue on desktop).
3. The AI's read shows above the composer — "Persuadable," "Question," "Supporter," "Opposed" — with the suggested approved script pre-loaded.
4. Press 1–4 to fire an approved script — it sends AND tags the contact in one keystroke — or type your own reply and hit Send.
5. Press O (or tap Opt out) for anyone who asks to stop; they're suppressed from all future sends.
6. Click ✦ AI re-sort any time to re-triage the queue.

• Burn it to zero — the inbox celebrates when every reply is handled.
• Sorting is by value, not recency: a persuadable voter outranks a thumbs-up.

Scripts

The approved replies your texters fire from the inbox with one keystroke. Each script can carry a tag that's applied automatically when it's sent.

1. Click ＋ New script.
2. Name it (e.g. "Ride to the polls") and write the message.
3. Add the tag to apply when it's sent (e.g. "Needs ride") — sending the answer also sorts the contact.
4. Optionally bind it to a key 1–4. A key belongs to one script; assigning it here frees it elsewhere.
5. Mark it Approved (usable in the inbox) or Draft, then Save script.

• Keep the four keys for your four most common answers; search covers the rest.
• Write scripts your greenest volunteer can send verbatim — that's the point.

Sending Numbers

Plan a pool of local sending numbers by state → city → area code, and rest numbers to protect deliverability. Note, honestly: buying numbers through the carrier isn't live yet — today every text goes out on the number assigned by your Texting Setup registration. This screen plans the pool; it doesn't change what you send from.

1. Pick a state, then a city, then an area code in the three columns.
2. Click ＋ Request 5 numbers to add them to your planned pool.
3. In Your pool, watch each number's daily send count.
4. Click Rest to bench a number nearing carrier limits, Wake to bring it back.

• Local numbers matched to the district get answered more — plan pools around where your voters are.

Texters

The volunteer roster for your texting operation — who's on the phones, what they've done, and how many replies are waiting on each person.

You need the supervisor role to manage the roster (if you set up the workspace, that's you).

1. Check the three counters: texters active, replies waiting, and conversations nobody's picked up.
2. Type a volunteer's email, choose Texter or Supervisor, and click Add to roster.
3. They're active the first time they sign in with that email address.
4. Each row shows their work: texts sent, voter contacts logged, and how many replies are waiting on them.
5. Use Make supervisor / Make texter to change roles, and Pause / Resume to bench someone.

• Texters work the queue; supervisors also manage the roster and scripts. Give the second role sparingly.

Text Polls

Ask questions by text with branching follow-ups — the next question fires the second someone answers. Answers can tag people automatically, and AI summarizes what the results mean.

Click Load a demo poll to see a working example first (demo results are clearly labeled and never counted as real polling).

1. Click ＋ New poll and name it.
2. Write question 1 — one question, and tell them how to reply. The character counter keeps you honest.
3. Click ＋ Add an answer for each choice (e.g. YES / NO). Give each answer a tag, and set where it branches (→ next or → Q3). No answers listed = open question, answered in their own words.
4. Add more questions. Between questions the default is ⚡ Instant; tap ＋ delay to add a wait in minutes.
5. Save poll, then click Live — the app confirms first, because going live texts question 1 to your list and can't be unsent.
6. Watch the Results tab: response bars, completion rate, and ✦ What does this mean? for the AI read.

• Tag-on-answer is the quiet superpower — a "YES" on the ride question builds your ride-to-polls list by itself.

Social

AI-drafts posts for X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads, and builds a scheduled content calendar. Honest caveat: auto-publishing needs a posting provider (Postiz or Ayrshare) connected — until then you post each item by hand from the queue and mark it done.

1. Pick a platform — the character limit adjusts automatically.
2. Type what the post is about and pick a tone (punchy, inspiring, urgent, warm, contrast).
3. Click ✦ AI draft, then edit. Click ✦ Rewrite for another take.
4. Either Copy it and post now, or set a date and time and click Schedule (leave it blank to save as a draft).
5. Work your queue: when you've posted one, click Mark posted.

• Batch a week of posts in one sitting — the queue is your content calendar.
• The counter turns red when you're over the platform limit, and over-limit posts can't be queued.

Copywriter

Writes campaign collateral in your voice — fundraising emails, social posts, texts, press releases, palm cards, robocall scripts, and stump openers — using your name and office from your brand kit.

1. Pick what you need from the chips (e.g. Palm card).
2. Type what it should say — "about funding schools and fixing the roads."
3. Click Write my… and wait a few seconds.
4. Review each piece and hit Copy to take it wherever it's going.
5. Click Rewrite if you want a different take.

• It leaves [PLACEHOLDERS] for anything it shouldn't invent — dates, dollar amounts, endorsers. Fill those before anything ships.
• Set your candidate name and office in the Brand Kit once, and every piece comes out on-voice.

Press & Media

Drafts a press release with AI, then pitches it by email to the reporters you've tagged in Contacts. A pitch is an email under the hood, so it uses your Email Blast sender.

Tag your reporters press in Contacts, and set your sender in Email Blast.

1. Type the news — "endorsement from the firefighters union" — and click ✨ Draft.
2. Edit the headline and release; add the dateline city and who's quoted.
3. Fill in the Media Contact block (name, email, phone) — it's appended to the release.
4. Pick your press list from the tag pills. The app refuses to pitch without a tag selected — a pitch never goes to your whole contact list.
5. Click Pitch N reporters, then tap again to confirm. Or click Copy release to use it anywhere.

• Only tagged contacts with an email address get the pitch.
• No SES connected yet? The release still drafts, saves, and copies — you just can't send.

Broadcast

Write one message and send it as an email blast AND a text blast to the same list at once. Each channel reaches the contacts who have that method — phones get the text, emails get the email. (Social is the next channel; it's shown but not sendable yet.)

Set your sender in Email Blast and finish Texting Setup. The channel cards show "not connected" honestly if either isn't ready.

1. Check the channels you want — Email, Text, or both.
2. Type the goal — "GOTV reminder — polls close 7pm" — and click ✨ Draft. It writes the text message, email subject, and email body together.
3. Edit each version — a text and an email shouldn't read the same.
4. Pick the list (Everyone or a tag).
5. Click Send — the button turns red and asks for a second tap, because this is the single biggest send in the app. Both channels queue up front, then you watch live progress per channel.

• Decisions accepted in the Strategy Room can hand their approved copy straight into this composer — the thing you decided is the thing that goes out.

Relational

Found on the Field shelf.

Friend-to-friend organizing. You write one personal script, get a shareable link, and supporters text their own friends from their own phones — the highest-trust outreach there is. No SMS provider needed.

1. Give the push an internal title — "GOTV weekend — friends & family."
2. Type the ask — "get 3 friends to vote early this weekend" — and click ✨ Draft, or write the script yourself. Keep it sounding like a real friend.
3. Click Create & get supporter link.
4. Click Copy link and send it to your volunteers (a text blast to your volunteers tag works well).
5. Watch each push's live counts: opened, sent, copied.

• The script should read like something a person would actually text — first names, no campaign-speak.

Prep Room

Found on the Intelligence shelf.

A rehearsal room. An AI plays a hostile interviewer — debate opponent, cable news anchor, local reporter, or town-hall voter — grills you at the difficulty you choose, then scores your performance like a coach.

1. Pick who's grilling you and how hard: Warm-up, Tough, or Brutal.
2. Describe what you're prepping for — your race, and where you expect heat.
3. Click Start typed session — or Practice out loud (voice) on web to rehearse the delivery, not just the words.
4. Answer each question in the chat. It presses follow-ups the way a real interviewer would.
5. When you've answered a few, click Score my performance for a coach's scorecard.
6. Reopen any past session from the list to see the transcript, the score, and whether the answer got better.

• Rehearse the same weak spot twice a week apart — past sessions make the improvement visible.
• Do at least one Brutal run before any real debate. The real thing will feel easier.
