Fundraising

The Fundraising shelf is where the money side of your campaign lives: take donations, run your daily call-time hour, keep a gift-by-gift ledger, draft your FEC report, and fill the room at your next fundraiser.

Fundraising (Renegade Raise)

What it does

Gets your campaign set up to take donations. Two paths: connect your campaign bank through Stripe so Renegade can be your donation platform, or paste a donation link you already have (Anedot, Democracy Engine, Donorbox) and share it today. It also hands you the legally required disclaimer, ready to copy.

Heads up

Connecting your bank starts the Stripe onboarding — the donor-facing Renegade donation page itself is still being finished, so the paste-a-link route is how you raise money right now. The compliance rules shown (contribution limits, employer/occupation collection, prohibited sources, cash caps) describe what Renegade Raise enforces on donations that run through our platform.

Steps
  1. Open Fundraising on the Fundraising shelf.
  2. Type your committee name at the top — it fills in your disclaimer automatically.
  3. To use Renegade Raise, click Connect your campaign bank and finish the Stripe setup that opens. Stripe holds the money, never us.
  4. To raise today instead, click Get a free Anedot account, set one up, then paste your donation link into the box.
  5. Click Copy your shareable donate link and drop it in texts, emails, and posts.
  6. Scroll down and click Copy the disclaimer — put it on anything that asks for money.
Pro tips
  • Fees are transparent: on $100, card processing takes about $3.20, Renegade takes 2%, your campaign nets roughly $94.80.
  • The figures shown are federal 2025–26 numbers. State and local races have their own limits — check with counsel before going live.

Call Time

What it does

Turns your daily dialing-for-dollars hour into a fast session: one donor card at a time, with a suggested ask, AI talking points, and their remaining legal headroom already on screen. Log the result with one tap (or one keystroke) and the next donor comes up.

Before you start

Add donors first — click + Add a donor and enter name, phone, last gift, employer, and occupation. The queue sorts itself: due callbacks first, then proven givers with room left to give, with recently-called and maxed-out donors pushed down.

Steps
  1. Open Call Time. Your queue is on the left, the current donor card on the right.
  2. Read the card: last gift, total this cycle, Can still give (their legal headroom), and the suggested ask with talking points.
  3. Click the phone number to dial (on devices that can place calls).
  4. Adjust the amount if needed, pick P (primary) or G (general) for which election the money counts against, and add a note if you want.
  5. Click the outcome: Pledged, Gave, Call back, No answer, or Declined. The next card appears.
Pro tips
  • On the web, use your keyboard: P pledged, G gave, C callback, N no answer, D declined, J/K to move through the queue.
  • A yellow warning on a card means that donor is past $200 this cycle without employer/occupation on file — ask on the call. The FEC requires it.
  • The session bar up top tracks your dials and dollars in real time. Momentum is the whole game.

Contribution Ledger

Inside Call Time → Finance tab.

What it does

Your money scoreboard and gift-by-gift record. The Finance tab shows raised-this-cycle, outstanding pledges, FEC paperwork gaps, and the full pipeline — plus a ledger where every gift is a dated, election-designated row. This ledger is what the FEC Filing tool reads.

Steps
  1. In Call Time, click the Finance tab.
  2. Check the three big numbers: raised this cycle, pledged but not yet in, and FEC paperwork gaps.
  3. To record a gift that didn't come through a call (a check at an event, say): type the donor's name, pick them from the matches, enter the amount and date, choose P or G, and click Record.
  4. Made a typo? Click Void on the entry, then click Sure? to confirm. The void is logged as an offsetting row — nothing is silently deleted.
Pro tips
  • Gifts you log with the Gave button during a call session land in the ledger automatically — the manual form is only for money that arrived some other way.
  • Watch the paperwork-gaps number. Every gap is a donor over $200 missing employer/occupation, and your FEC report needs both.

FEC Filing

What it does

Generates a draft Form 3 (.fec file) from your donor records — itemized and unitemized receipts, with compliance warnings before you download. This is Phase 0: a draft for you to review and validate in the FEC's test system. It does not file for you.

Before you start

You need your FEC committee ID and treasurer info, plus donor data in Call Time. Works on the web app (the download needs a browser).

Steps
  1. Open FEC Filing on the Fundraising shelf.
  2. Fill in your committee: FEC ID (like C00123456), committee name, treasurer, and address. Click Save committee.
  3. Review What's in the report: total receipts, itemized (over $200), and unitemized, with warnings for missing employer/occupation and donors above the per-election limit. Fix issues in Call Time before generating.
  4. Pick your report code (Q1, Q2, Q3, YE, MY, 12P, 12G, 30G, TER) and enter the coverage dates.
  5. Check the amendment box only if you're amending a report you already filed.
  6. Click Generate .fec — the file downloads.
Pro tips
  • If your gift ledger has entries, the report uses real gift dates and true period totals. Without it, amounts fall back to cycle-to-date aggregates — the tool tells you which you got.
  • Always upload the draft to the FEC test system and validate before filing for real.

Fundraiser Events

What it does

Creates a fundraiser or house party with a public RSVP link — no login needed for guests. You get shifts, capacity with an automatic waitlist, day-of check-in, and a one-click reminder blast. (This is the same Events tool the Field module uses; pick the Fundraiser or House party type.)

Before you start

Reminders always go by text. To also send email reminders, set up your sender address in the Email tool first.

Steps
  1. Open Fundraiser Events and click + New event.
  2. Pick the type — Fundraiser or House party — and give it a title.
  3. Add the location (or flip on Virtual and paste a join link), set the date and time, and set a max headcount if the room has one.
  4. Optionally repeat it weekly and add a host name and description. Click Create event.
  5. Click Copy next to the RSVP link and share it everywhere — every signup flows into your contacts, tagged to this event.
  6. Day-of, open the event and tap ✓ In as guests arrive (or No-show after).
  7. Click Send reminder the day before — it texts everyone who RSVP'd, and emails them too if your sender is set up.
Pro tips
  • When the event fills, new signups go to a waitlist automatically. Cancel a no-show and the oldest waitlisted person is promoted — and gets an email that they're in.
  • Click Close RSVPs when you're done taking signups.
