Renegade Intel vs. NGP VAN

NGP VAN is the long-standing standard of the Democratic campaign ecosystem. Renegade Intel is the nonpartisan AI campaign manager. They’re built for different worlds — here’s how to pick.

Choose NGP VAN if…

You’re a Democratic campaign that wants the party’s standard stack. NGP VAN is used across the Democratic ecosystem — including national party committees — and plugs into decades of party field infrastructure and state-party voter file access. If your state party is handing you VAN access, use it.

Choose Renegade Intel if…

You’re running as a Republican, an independent, or on a ballot measure — or you’re a Democrat who wants an AI-run operation with the strategy, creative studio, texting, call time, and FEC drafting in one login, at a price printed on the website.

The differences that matter

Who it serves

NGP VAN serves Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations — that’s its stated market, and the party relationship is its moat. Renegade Intel is nonpartisan by design: any party, independents, and ballot measures get the same tools at the same price.

How pricing works

NGP VAN’s pricing is quote-based — you request it. Renegade Intel’s is public: $500, $1,000, or $3,500 a month, month to month, on the pricing page.

What’s in the box

Renegade Intel is an eight-module platform with seven core modules in every plan — AI strategy, communications, field and GOTV, fundraising, intelligence, paid-media planning, and HQ. Kitchen Cabinet and War Cabinet include Creative Studio and a campaign website; War Cabinet also adds Council Mode. Traditional stacks typically assemble several products to cover the same ground.

The AI

Renegade was built AI-first and supports Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek. Kitchen Cabinet lets you choose among the models currently available to your organization; War Cabinet compares labeled responses and synthesizes one recommendation. The same system also drafts creative, helps sort supported text replies, and builds the Daily Plan from your organization’s campaign records.
